"We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used to create them."
What do they say about me?

"It took me 5 years to find a therapist I could work with. So glad I found Sarah... life is good now." (Past client.)
"I was terrified to see a counsellor, but knew I needed help. Amazingly, things started to feel more manageable from the very first session." (Past client.)
"Sarah is up for the big challenge - luckily for me! She makes you think you can do it. I hoped - at most - to learn to cope better with lifelong anxiety, however, it is all but gone..." (Past client.)

Welcome to my Edinburgh practice
I offer therapy to adults and young people from all backgrounds, especially those experiencing depression or anxiety. I have a special interest in managing change of any kind, including dealing with miscarriage and birth trauma.
If you are feeling stuck or a bit 'meh', but counselling doesn't feel like the right answer just now, I also offer a 4 session, structured 'Way of Life' assessment, which might help get you unstuck. It can help uncover some of the subconscious goals, beliefs, expectations and fears that make sense of why we do what we do.
Have a look around my site for information about counselling in general, and about me and my approach. I am a psychologist and integrative therapist, with a sound knowledge of the neurobiological underpinnings of mental states, behaviour and effective therapy.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you think I may be able to help you. If I can't, I'll do my best to signpost you somewhere that can.
